Etsy Fees Australia 2026
If your Etsy bank account is in Australia, your fees differ from US sellers in two ways: payment processing rises to 4% on international orders, and Etsy adds 10% GST on its fees unless you have given Etsy your ABN for GST. Here is every fee for Australian sellers in 2026, with a worked example.
Etsy fees for Australian sellers
- Listing fee: $0.20 per listing, about A$0.29. Charged in US dollars and converted. Renews every 4 months and on every sale.
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of the order total, including the postage and gift wrap you charge.
- Payment processing: 3% + A$0.25 on orders from Australian buyers, 4% + A$0.25 on international orders.
- Regulatory operating fee: none for Australian sellers.
- Offsite Ads: 15% of the order total when a sale comes from an Etsy ad on another site, 12% if your shop made $10,000+ in the last 12 months. Capped at US$100 per order.
- Currency conversion: 2.5% if your listings are priced in a currency other than Australian dollars.
- GST on fees: 10% on top of Etsy's fees, unless you are GST-registered and have added your ABN to your Etsy account.
Worked example: an A$35 item with A$10 postage
The buyer pays A$45. Listing fee A$0.29, transaction fee A$2.93, payment processing A$1.60, and 10% GST on those fees A$0.48. Total fees: A$5.29, or 11.8% of the order.
The item costs A$10 to make, packaging A$0.60 and postage A$9. You keep A$20.11, a 44.7% margin.
Three things that change the result
- International buyer: processing rises to 4% + A$0.25. Fees go to A$5.79 (12.9%).
- GST-registered: with your ABN on Etsy there is no GST on the fees. Fees fall to A$4.81 (10.7%).
- Offsite Ads: if the sale comes from an Etsy ad, add A$6.75 plus GST. Fees jump to A$12.72 (28.3%) and you keep A$12.68.
What to charge
For a 30% margin on this example, the item price needs to be at least A$23.90 (with A$10 postage charged). The break-even item price is A$12.55. If the sale might come through Offsite Ads, the 30% price is A$36.90.
